The blaze was caused by an electrical short, according to fire officials.<\/p>\n<p>                MattGush<\/p>\n<p>            Getty Images\/iStockphoto<\/p>\n<p>An electrical short caused a fire at the State Fair of Texas on Tuesday morning, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>Dallas-Fire Rescue units responded to the Midway at the fairgrounds about 7:10 a.m., DFR spokesperson Jason Evans said in a news release. When they arrived, they could see a large column of smoke rising from the area.<\/p>\n<p>The blaze, which was coming from a balloon pop gaming stand, was declared out before 7:30 a.m. The stand received significant damage, but it was closed at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters remained at the scene to extinguish hot spots inside several stuffed animals and other prizes, the release states.
