The event, hosted by the Republican National Convention is set to begin at 2:30 p.m. Trump is expected to arrive begin his remarks around 6 p.m. rally on behalf of Attorney General Ken Paxton<\/a> and congressional candidate Carlos De La Cruz.<\/p>\n

The president is expected to arrive some time after 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Kelly Field, part of the Joint Base San Antonio. The Federal Aviation Administration issued a VIP Movement notification for San Antonio, for October 7, temporarily restricting flights over the Kelly Field at that same time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A U.S. Secret Service representative tells MySA that the attendees and those commuting through the venue area should expect enhanced security and potential traffic delays.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe U.S. Secret Service is working closely with federal, state and local law enforcement partners, event organizers, and venue officials to support a safe and secure event in San Antonio.”<\/p>\n

Those attending the rally should “anticipate enhanced security measures,” including TSA-style screening and verification procedures, the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

Anyone with a ticket is encouraged to arrive early, adhere to all posted signage and follow directions from law enforcement and event staff.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“While we strive to minimize impacts, some traffic disruptions and congestion should be anticipated in the San Antonio area prior to, and through the conclusion of the visit. The public is encouraged to plan to allow additional travel time on Wednesday,” the U.S. Secret Service\u00a0shared. “For operational-security reasons, the Secret Service does not discuss specific protective measures, security plans, timelines, or movements. The safety of our protectees, attendees, and the public remains our top priority.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Bexar County Democrats<\/a> will hold demonstrations ahead of Trump’s visit at 4:30 p.m outside of the Freeman Coliseum. The San Antonio Party for Socialism and Liberation will also hold a protest at 5 p.m. at the intersection of Coca Cola and Houston Street.\u00a0<\/p>\n
