We Are Austin’s Trevor Scott welcomed FVF Law founder Aaron von Flatern and attorney Bret Stanley to talk about the expansion, Stanley’s experience, and what the new Houston presence means for the firm.<\/p>\n

Meet attorney Bret Stanley<\/p>\n

For von Flatern, expanding FVF Law’s <\/a>reach also means finding the right people to represent the firm’s approach in a new market.<\/p>\n

He joined We Are Austin to introduce Stanley and explain why the team is excited to have him aboard.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are lawyers, and then there’s people like the person sitting to my right, Bret Stanley, who’s a lawyer who adds tremendous depth to our law firm. This is someone who has led litigation against some of the biggest companies in the world on the national stage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stanley also shared more about his background, and what ultimately attracted him to FVF Law.<\/a><\/p>\n

I’ve been practicing around 16 years and I’ve started litigating these mass torts multi district litigation. And and that is thousands of cases, as Arron said. And going through the process, it led me to doing a lot of litigation against gig economy companies, rideshare companies, specifically against Uber and Lyft and DoorDash and people like that, and been able to really learn their internal systems and processes and how the how they collect data and what they know and the risk that they’re aware of and what we think they should share to the public.”<\/p>\n

Stanley knew that joning FVF Law would be the perfect next step in his professional journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe people and the relationship, number one. I met Josh Fogelman there in undergrad, so I’ve known him for more than 20 years. I found out that FVF is exactly the place I wanted to be. The way that they treat their people internally, the way that they treat their clients, is what it’s about. It’s family with the employees. It’s family with our clients.\u201d<\/p>\n

FVF Law heads to Houston<\/p>\n

The addition of Stanley coincides with another milestone for the Austin-based firm: a new FVF Law office in Houston.<\/a><\/p>\n

Von Flatern explained what the expansion means for FVF Law as it extends its presence beyond Central Texas and serves more people across the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’re excited to be a part of something bigger than just Austin, and we love Austin. This is our home and it will always be our home. We’re excited to have a real Houston office. We’ve got more scope and more depth.”<\/p>\n

The conversation also touches on education, something the firm emphasizes as part of its work with clients, and why helping people better understand the legal process remains important to the FVF team.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s really important to establish a relationship with your clients because they’re on this path that they’ve never been on before. We’ve been down these paths to help them, and so we stand around them and lift them up.\u201d<\/p>\n
