It’s nearly time to break out your jackets, San Antonio. A cold front<\/a> could bring dipping temperatures to Texas.<\/p>\n

In looking at the graphic\u00a0shared, it pinpoints San Antonio within the blue shading. The color key to the right states that as being about 1 to 3 degrees Celsius (roughly 2 to 5 degrees Fahrenheit) below average at about 5,000 feet. The front would arrive around Friday, October 16, or Saturday, October 17, according to Suchan.<\/p>\n

“The operational model run (GFS) shows a true Texas Blue Norther, but this far out, single model runs are volatile with consistency,” he said.<\/p>\n

Other weather experts have reported similar predictions\u00a0for the coming week.\u00a0In a long-term forecast discussion, the\u00a0San Antonio \/ Austin office\u00a0of the National Weather Service<\/a> (NWS) said after Pacific cyclone Rachel<\/a> weakens, regional “temperatures and humidity levels will take a significant turn upward” on Monday, October 12.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This will create the feel of “that sticky October air that we are accustomed to” and make it warmer during the daytime. The\u00a0NWS added that humidity will linger as a cold front moves closer, which would match Suchan’s forecast.<\/p>\n

It’s a welcomed switch-up for many Texans, especially after a summer of triple-digit heat.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m ready for cooler weather,” one Facebook user, Mark Foster, commented on Suchan’s post<\/a>. “Hopefully we get some hard freezing this winter.”<\/p>\n

The Alamo City has been experiencing nighttime lows<\/a> in\u00a0the mid to high 60s this week, but Fredericksburg and Llano were among those finally lucky enough to enjoy temperatures in the 50s.
