{"id":459669,"date":"2026-10-08T02:14:11","date_gmt":"2026-10-08T02:14:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/459669\/"},"modified":"2026-10-08T02:14:11","modified_gmt":"2026-10-08T02:14:11","slug":"mustang-chase-ends-in-desert-arrest-after-driver-gets-stuck-in-east-el-paso-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/459669\/","title":{"rendered":"Mustang chase ends in desert arrest after driver gets stuck in East El Paso"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 El Paso County Sheriff\u2019s Office deputies arrested a 37-year-old man after authorities said he fled from a traffic stop Saturday night in East El Paso.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies said they tried to stop a red Ford Mustang for a traffic violation around 8:16 p.m. in the 700 block of South Ascension Street.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Sheriff\u2019s Office, the driver did not stop and led deputies through the surrounding area. <\/p>\n<p>A female passenger got out of the vehicle in the 14800 block of Miguel Street and was safely detained.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities said the driver continued to the intersection of Miguel and Zelt streets, drove into a desert area and became stuck. <\/p>\n<p>The driver then ran from the Mustang, but deputies followed him and took him into custody in the desert.<\/p>\n<p>The driver was identified as 37-year-old Isai Ebenezer Silva.<\/p>\n<p><p>Mustang chase ends in desert arrest after driver gets stuck in East El Paso (credit: EPCSO)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>RECOMMENDED: <a href=\"https:\/\/kfoxtv.com\/news\/local\/umc-el-paso-suspends-contracted-doctor-amid-indecent-assault-investigation?SRC=LIONK\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">El Paso doctor accused of indecent assault of patient at UMC, affidavit say<\/a><\/p>\n<p>During an investigation and vehicle inventory, deputies said they found less than four grams of methamphetamine. <\/p>\n<p>Silva was charged with evading arrest or detention with a previous conviction, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, and possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 1, less than four grams.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies also found Silva had an outstanding warrant for tampering with an electronic monitoring device and an outstanding parole violation, according to the Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>Silva was booked into the El Paso County Downtown Detention Facility and was being held without bond.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChoosing to evade deputies puts passengers, other drivers, and our deputies at risk,\u201d Sheriff Oscar Ugarte said. \u201cFleeing does not erase a warrant or prevent an arrest.
