SAN ANTONIO \u2014 La Familia Cortez Family Restaurants is donating all October proceeds from select pink bakery items to nonprofits during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.<\/p>\n
The restaurant group\u2019s \u201cConchas for the Cure\u201d campaign includes pink conchas, cookies and cakes. Hector Valles, a member of Mi Tierra Cafe y Panaderia’s management team, said 100% of sales from the featured items will benefit nonprofit organizations.<\/p>\n
La Familia Cortez Family Restaurants launched the campaign this year as another way to give back to the community, Valles said.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor me personally, I believe in it,\u201d Valles said, adding that family members had died from cancer. \u201cAnything we can do to help, it helps everybody in more ways than people know.\u201d<\/p>\n
