Democrat Letitia Plummer, a former Houston City Council member, and former county treasurer and Houston council member Orlando Sanchez, a Republican, are seeking the seat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"serif-copy text-width mb-md\">Plummer topped Sanchez in fundraising by more than $100,000 this summer in the race\u2019s busiest period to date, though Sanchez held a small lead in total fundraising since launching his campaign in August 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"serif-copy text-width mb-md\">Plummer raised $641,030 between July 1 and Sept. 24, bringing her campaign\u2019s total to $939,806.
