CBS Austin meteorologist Avery Tomasco highlighted<\/a> the potential of another round of rainstorms and a possible cold front in a social media post<\/a> on Wednesday, October 7. In a 6-10 day outlook, Tomasco noted the possibility of “above average precipitation” in the works, writing in part: “It’s only a matter of time before heavy returns in an El Ni\u00f1o October.”<\/p>\n

Tomasco reiterated that analyzing forecasts beyond a seven-day stretch increases uncertainty and unpredictability, but added that “confidence is increasing” in a slew of low pressure moving toward Texas during the latter half of next week.<\/p>\n

“This would set us up for a multi-day rain & storm chance similar to what got the new month started,” he wrote in part. “There will be a cold front in the mix as well sometime next weekend, perhaps a strong one. Stay tuned, scallywags.”<\/p>\n

Over at the National Weather Service, NWS’ Austin and San Antonio office<\/a> also teased a cold front down the road \u2014 but that doesn’t mean temperatures and dew points won’t rise beforehand.<\/p>\n

“By Monday\u00a0morning low temperatures and humidity levels will take a\u00a0significant turn upward, giving us that sticky October air that we\u00a0are accustomed to,” NWS’ long-term area forecast discussion on Wednesday\u00a0read in part.<\/p>\n
