Events were held on Tuesday throughout the city<\/p>\n
SAN ANTONIO \u2013 People around San Antonio honored those who have served with Veterans Day ceremonies throughout the city.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday morning, dozens of people gathered at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. The ceremony included a presentation of the flag, moments of reflection and the playing of taps.<\/p>\n
Veterans from all military branches and their families filled the amphitheater. Several elected leaders also spoke during the program.<\/p>\n
Also on Tuesday, the Bexar County Buffalo Soldiers Association held a Veterans Day ceremony.<\/p>\n
The association is a multicultural group that pays tribute to the history of the Buffalo Soldier and Black Indian Scouts of the 1800s. <\/p>\n
Part of their mission is to ensure young students are taught about their contributions in the western United States during that era.<\/p>\n
