<\/p>\n ARLINGTON, Texas \u2013\u00a0The UT Arlington women’s basketball team was on fire from behind the arc, hitting 10 of their 15 three point attempts, to defeat the Cowgirls of Wyoming 64-44 on Tuesday night inside the College Park Center. The Lady Mavs had three players score in double figures, led by Kira Reynolds<\/a>, who notched her second double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Jadyn Atchison<\/a> added 12 points and Mila Reynolds<\/a> chipped in with 11 points.<\/p>\n UTA shared the ball well in Tuesday’s game, racking up 21 assists on 25 made field goals. Alexsyah Goudeau’s<\/a> four assists paced the Mavericks and Nya Threatt<\/a> also chipped in with four assists of her own.<\/p>\n The Lady Mavs forced 16 Wyoming turnovers, turning those takeaways into 13 points on the offensive end of the floor. Erin Sellers’<\/a> two steals led the way for UTA.<\/p>\n GAME FLOW Wyoming fought back to tie the game at 23-23 before UTA went on a 5-0 run starting at the 3:56 mark in the second period, highlighted by a three from Threatt, to take a 28-23 lead, a score that would hold until halftime. The Lady Mavs were strong from deep in the period, knocking down two three-point shots to account for six of its 12 points. They knocked down six triples in the first half.<\/p>\n UTA wasted no time building on its lead, going on an 8-0 run, punctuated by a three from\u00a0Atchison, to expand its lead further to 36-23 with 8:12 to go in the third. Before the third period was over, the Lady Mavs added two points to that lead and entered the fourth quarter with a 49-34 edge. UTA knocked down three three-pointers in the quarter to score nine of its 21 total points.<\/p>\n The Lady Mavs coasted to the win from there, increasing their margin of victory by outscoring the Cowgirls 15-10 in the fourth quarter. UTA took advantage of five Wyoming turnovers in the quarter, scoring four points off of those takeaways.<\/p>\n GAME NOTES<\/p>\n

\nThe 10 triples are the most in a game by the Lady Mavs since they knocked down 11 back on March 7, 2024 at California Baptist.

\nWith the win, the Lady Mavs pick up their first win of the 2025-26 campaign behind great shooting and timely defense. As a team, UTA shot 49-percent from the floor and 66.7-percent from deep while forcing the Cowgirls into 16 turnovers, blocking six shots and finishing with six steals.<\/p>\n
\nAfter falling behind 2-0, UTA went on an 8-0 run with 7:54 left in the first quarter, culminating in a three from Goudeau, to take an 8-2 lead. The Lady Mavs then lost some of that lead, but still entered the quarter break with a 16-14 advantage. UTA relied on its three-point shooting in the period, knocking down four shots to account for 12 of its 16 points.<\/p>\n
\n\tKira Reynolds<\/a> notched her second career double-double with 14 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
\n\tThe Lady Mavs were incredible from long range, knocking down 10 of 15 three point attempts, the most in a game since March of 2024 (11 at CBU).
\n\tThe Lady Mavs held the Cowgirls to only 33.3 percent shooting from the field, their lowest of the season.
\n\tUTA never trailed after taking a 16-14 first quarter lead.
\n\tThe Lady Mavs shared the rock well, recording an assist on 84 percent of made field goals.
\n\tUTA had a stellar day defensively, holding Wyoming to 15-percent from three point land on 13 attempts, their lowest percentage through three games.
\n\tUTA held Wyoming to a season low 44 points.
\n\tUTA had a 33-31 edge on the boards in the win.
\n\tThe 64 points the Lady Mavs scored is the most given up by Wyoming this season.
\n\tThe Lady Mavs were active in affecting shots on the defensive end, recording six blocks as a team.
\n\tKira Reynolds<\/a> led the defensive charge with a game-high five blocks.
\n\tThe Lady Mavs scored 16 fast break points while limiting the Cowgirls to just four.
\n\tAtchison and Threatt were a perfect 2-for-2 from deep.
