Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver Cee Dee Lamb surprised two families with carts full of Thanksgiving groceries on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The donation was part of the star wideout\u2019s campaign to support the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas.<\/p>\n
There was shock, disbelief, and tears in a Tom Thumb in Frisco on Tuesday as two North Texas families got the surprise of their lives from an NFL star.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s exciting, man, it brings joy to me,\u201d said Cee Dee Lamb. \u201cBecause it\u2019s very me, this is what I enjoy doing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Today, Cee Dee Lamb is a wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys.<\/p>\n
But growing up, he was one of the three million kids and teens across the country who spend time at Boys and Girls Clubs of America every year.<\/p>\n
\u201cCee Dee Lamb is a former club kid, and he has been tied to our mission since his childhood,\u201d said Anitra Hunt, Director of Communications for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas. \u201cAnd he loves to give back, and he loves to support Boys and Girls Clubs.\u201d<\/p>\n
For Lamb, that support is Touchdowns for Tomorrow, a fundraising campaign for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas that has already raised more than $88,000 of its $100,000 goal.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the way the economy is going right now and other things happening in our communities, we\u2019re finding that our families need us more now than ever,\u201d said Hunt.<\/p>\n
When he heard about two single mothers from Richardson whose children used the Boys and Girls Clubs, Lamb had them invited to a Frisco grocery store for a big surprise.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was like, ‘Okay, what are we doing here? What is the surprise?’\u201d said Loretta Onioni.<\/p>\n
Inside, the Cowboys star left them speechless, gifting each family a cart full of free Thanksgiving groceries to help them through the holidays.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s thoughtful,\u201d Onioni said through tears. \u201cMay God bless you for the humbleness and love that you have towards people.\u201d<\/p>\n
He also signed jerseys for all of them \u2013 including teenager Efosa Onioni, who said Lamb was his favorite football player.<\/p>\n
\u201cI kind of like froze,\u201d he told NBC 5. \u201cI didn\u2019t know what to do, I was speechless.\u201d<\/p>\n
The NFL star said he was proud to give North Texas families a Thanksgiving to remember.<\/p>\n
\u201cMaking sure everybody has the same experience that I have, or wanted to have, during Thanksgiving,\u201d said Lamb.<\/p>\n
The Boys and Girls Clubs said Lamb\u2019s donation would help them get crucial supplies and keep programs running for thousands of Dallas-area kids.<\/p>\n
