BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – On Oct. 8, Blue Origin announced it is expanding its footprint with a new state-of-the-art manufacturing campus in Hutto, Texas, named Constellation Park.<\/p>\n
The 1.3-million-square-foot multi-facility complex will serve as a central production hub for several of the company\u2019s satellite and communications programs.<\/p>\n
\u201cTexas has long understood what it takes to lead in space exploration,\u201d said Blue Origin CEO Dave Limp. \u201cWe\u2019re proud to grow our footprint here in Texas, tap into the world-class talent this state has to offer, and help ensure America remains the leader in space innovation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Constellation Park will support manufacturing for TeraWave, Blue Origin\u2019s satellite communications network, which delivers up to six terabits per second of symmetrical data anywhere on Earth, according to the press release.<\/p>\n
The facility will also expand production for Quartz, a global communications network featuring 3.7-meter aperture antennas that enable S-band and X-band connectivity. <\/p>\n
The campus will also manufacture key Blue Origin subsystems, including solar arrays, avionics, telecommunications, and other satellite hardware.<\/p>\n
The press release states that the Constellation Park expansion will add over 2,000 manufacturing jobs over the next 10 years.<\/p>\n
