EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 El Paso pet owners will have a new way to remember animals they have lost as D\u00eda de los Muertos celebrations begin this fall.<\/p>\n
Friends of El Paso Animal Services, in collaboration with El Paso Animal Services, is inviting the community to honor and remember beloved pets through the second annual community pet ofrenda at the Mexican American Cultural Center, 201 W. Franklin Ave.<\/p>\n
The \u201cSiempre con Nosotros \u2013 Always With Us\u201d ofrenda will be on display from Oct. 17 through Nov. 15 as part of the MACC\u2019s D\u00eda de los Muertos celebrations.<\/p>\n
Organizers said the ofrenda will feature a Rainbow Bridge theme inspired by D\u00eda de los Muertos traditions, incorporating handmade papel picado and other traditional elements. <\/p>\n
The display is intended to create a space for remembering animal companions and celebrating the bond between people and their pets.<\/p>\n
Community members can include their pet in the ofrenda with a $5 memorial contribution benefiting Friends of El Paso Animal Services. <\/p>\n
The group said contributions support medical care, foster services, enrichment, community programs, and other resources for pets in need throughout El Paso.<\/p>\n
Photo submissions must be received by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
