Here&#8217;s why."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All Flock Safety surveillance cameras in Harris County\u2019s Commissioner Precinct 4 will be decommissioned amid a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonchronicle.com\/news\/houston-texas\/article\/flock-cameras-abbott-police-privacy-22417690.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">growing public furor nationwide<\/a> about how the data and information the cameras capture is saved, shared and accessed by law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley\u00a0Briones, a Democrat up for reelection next month, announced Thursday that she had ordered her staff to decommission and cover the 48 security cameras and 13 license plate-reading cameras spread across her precinct, which covers parts of west Houston and the western portion of the county.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have heard my Precinct 4 residents\u2019 legitimate concerns and am committed to addressing them,\u201d Briones said in a prepared statement.<\/p>\n<p>Gov.
