{"id":461125,"date":"2026-10-09T11:42:20","date_gmt":"2026-10-09T11:42:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/461125\/"},"modified":"2026-10-09T11:42:20","modified_gmt":"2026-10-09T11:42:20","slug":"free-parking-tomorrow-at-state-fair-of-texas-sponsored-by-draftkings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/461125\/","title":{"rendered":"Free parking tomorrow at State Fair of Texas sponsored by DraftKings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/state-fair\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">State Fair of Texas<\/a> visitors can park for free, thanks to the digital sports and gaming company DraftKings.<\/p>\n<p>The fair said it\u2019s the first time in its history fairgoers will get free parking at official State Fair lots.\u00a0DraftKings will cover the cost\u00a0\u2014 typically $25 per vehicle\u00a0\u2014 for the entire day Oct. 9.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re always looking for ways to make a day at the State Fair more accessible and affordable for our fairgoers, and we\u2019re incredibly grateful to DraftKings for helping us offer free parking for the first time in our history,\u201d said Mitchell Glieber, president of the State Fair of Texas, in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Official State Fair parking lots will open at 9:30 a.m., with admission gates opening at 10 a.m. Fairgoers are encouraged to arrive early and take exit 48A on Interstate 30 to access fair parking lots.<\/p>\n<p>The free parking comes a day before the Red River Rivalry football game at the Cotton Bowl. Fans of the University of Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma University Sooners typically\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/sports\/texas-longhorns\/article\/red-river-rivalry-oklahoma-texas-what-to-know-22460382.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pack the fairgrounds each year<\/a>, flocking to Dallas to watch the teams face off. A spokesperson with DraftKings said the free parking isn\u2019t tied to any promotion or bet.<\/p>\n<p>DraftKings also sponsored a three-night drone show at the fairgrounds last week.<\/p>\n<p>The State Fair\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/state-fair\/article\/new-prices-at-state-fair-of-texas-22447463.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">cut prices this year<\/a> after facing controversy on social media last year over high costs.
