{"id":461293,"date":"2026-10-09T15:46:08","date_gmt":"2026-10-09T15:46:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/461293\/"},"modified":"2026-10-09T15:46:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-09T15:46:08","slug":"car-burglary-suspects-on-the-run-after-allegedly-opening-fire-at-elderly-man","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/461293\/","title":{"rendered":"Car burglary suspects on the run after allegedly opening fire at elderly man"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN ANTONIO &#8211; A 73-year-old man told police he was shot at after confronting two people he said appeared to be checking cars in his neighborhood early Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The San Antonio Police Department said officers were called to the area of Elkins Drive and Jamar Boulevard at 5:18 a.m. on 10\/9\/2026 for a reported \u201cAggravated Assault-DW\/Shooting in Progress.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to preliminary information, the man said he saw two suspects checking cars \u201cas if they were possibly going to burglarize the vehicles.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Officers said the man confronted the two suspects and that one of them fired at the victim and his vehicle, striking the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the suspects fled and were not located after officers searched the area.
