Stars President & CEO Brad Alberts Thursday \u201cdismissed talk of keeping the team\u2019s arena in central Dallas\u201d and said that the franchise \u201cis \u2018100% focused\u2019 on Plano and redeveloping The Shops at Willow Bend<\/a> into a new arena and entertainment district,\u201d according to Mike Albanese of the DALLAS BUSINESS JOURNAL. Alberts \u201ccalled recent speculation that the NHL team stay in Big D instead of moving to Plano as \u2018just rumor mill.\u2019\u201d Some Dallas real estate leaders have recently \u201ckicked around the idea of the team staying in the city, especially if public financing is not approved by Plano voters.\u201d Downtown developer Ray Washburne said during a Sept. 24 event for Klyde Warren Park that \u201cthe battle is not over\u201d to keep both the Stars and Mavericks in the city\u2019s urban core<\/a>.
