{"id":461801,"date":"2026-10-10T03:08:14","date_gmt":"2026-10-10T03:08:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/461801\/"},"modified":"2026-10-10T03:08:14","modified_gmt":"2026-10-10T03:08:14","slug":"houston-methodist-breaks-ground-on-new-emergency-care-center-katy-fulshear","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/461801\/","title":{"rendered":"Houston Methodist breaks ground on new emergency care center | Katy &#8211; Fulshear"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Houston Methodist has broken ground on its new $15 million emergency care center located in <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/katy-north\/development\/decade-in-the-making-long-awaited-texas-heritage-marketplace-breaks-ground-filling-in-i-10-corridor-plat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Texas Heritage Marketplace<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>What happened?<\/p>\n<p>Houston Methodist representatives and employees gathered with community members, stakeholders and elected officials Oct. 7 at the future site of its emergency care center, which will increase the system&#8217;s regional healthcare footprint.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are always keeping the patient at the center of everything we do, and part of doing that means making care more accessible, more seamless and better coordinated,\u201d said Marc L. Boom, Houston Methodist\u2019s president and CEO. \u201cThis new center accomplishes all of those things.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The framework<\/p>\n<p>According to an Oct. 5 news release, the 11,150-square-foot facility to be constructed by O\u2019Donnell\/Snider Construction will include:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>10 exam rooms<\/p>\n<p>X-ray services<\/p>\n<p>CT imaging, lab services\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On-site clinicians trained in several specialties<\/p>\n<p>Notable quote<\/p>\n<p>Carl Little, CEO of Houston Methodist West Hospital and senior vice president at Houston Methodist, said the center will be the westernmost emergency room before Columbus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis marks a significant milestone in our commitment to expanding access to high-quality care in some of our region\u2019s fastest-growing communities,\u201d Little said. \u201cIn an emergency, seconds matter.
