A bus driver reported a man lying on the ground bleeding. Police <a href=\"https:\/\/cbsaustin.com\/news\/local\/victim-identified-suspect-sought-in-deadly-assault-at-ne-austin-bus-stop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">found Jeffrey Grable with visible injuries<\/a> and pronounced him dead at 5:34 a.m. Detectives said Grable had laid down near the bus stop several hours before someone assaulted him and ran away. <\/p>\n<p>Investigators processed the scene and canvassed the area, talking to businesses and reviewing security footage from a nearby Walmart and gas station.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cbsaustin.com\/news\/local\/victim-identified-suspect-sought-in-deadly-assault-at-ne-austin-bus-stop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">ALSO| Victim identified, suspect sought in deadly assault at NE Austin bus stop<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, officers from the Austin Police Department Tactical Intelligence Unit <a href=\"https:\/\/cbsaustin.com\/news\/local\/victim-identified-suspect-sought-in-deadly-assault-at-ne-austin-bus-stop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">identified the suspect as 33-year-old Jesse C. Monroe II<\/a>. Police said officers found Monroe in the 1000 block of West Rundberg Lane and arrested him with help from the APD Edward 300 patrol shift. <\/p>\n<p>Monroe was taken to the Travis County Jail and charged with murder, a first-degree felony.<\/p>\n<p>This case marks Austin&#8217;s 45th homicide of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information, photos, or videos related to the case can contact police at 512-974-TIPS.
