{"id":462075,"date":"2026-10-10T10:20:12","date_gmt":"2026-10-10T10:20:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/462075\/"},"modified":"2026-10-10T10:20:12","modified_gmt":"2026-10-10T10:20:12","slug":"hpd-investigators-believe-deaths-of-two-20-year-old-men-found-in-buffalo-bayou-may-be-connected","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/462075\/","title":{"rendered":"HPD investigators believe deaths of two 20-year-old men found in Buffalo Bayou may be connected"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao MvWXB TjIXL aGjvy ebVHC \">HOUSTON, Texas  (KTRK) &#8212; The Houston Police Department is asking for the public&#8217;s help in two shootings that left two men dead along the Buffalo Bayou on separate days.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Investigators believe that the two men&#8217;s deaths may have happened at the same time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">According to HPD, the first victim was identified as 20-year-old Carlos Tzep Ajpop, who was pronounced dead with a gunshot wound on Sept. 29 at 1001 West Loop South.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Police said that the second victim, who was identified as 20-year-old Oliver Ortiz, was found dead with a gunshot wound on Oct. 2 in a body of water near 7300 Clinton Drive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Investigators determined that both men were last seen together at 8701 Town Park on Sept. 27, according to HPD. Investigators believe that the men left in their own vehicles, but were traveling together when they were reported missing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Police also said the men may have participated in local car meetups. Authorities said that both of the victims&#8217; cars were found near the 10500 block of Keegan Road. Not to mention, both men had visible signs of trauma.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">Anyone with information in this case, or might have seen anything at the above locations, is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 KTRK-TV.
