HOUSTON \u2013 A man was hospitalized with gunshot wounds after a homeowner\u2019s son opened fire on him during an encounter in a north Houston backyard late Friday, according to Houston police.<\/p>\n
Officers responded to a shooting call around 11:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, in the 300 block of Glenburnie Drive.<\/p>\n
Police said the homeowners first heard a noise and noticed a van outside their residence that they considered suspicious.<\/p>\n
The homeowners then checked their backyard and found a man who approached one of them, according to police. The homeowner\u2019s adult son came outside a short time later and fired shots toward the man.<\/p>\n
The man suffered two gunshot wounds to his lower extremities. He was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.<\/p>\n
Police described both the man who was shot and the homeowner\u2019s son as being in their early 20s.<\/p>\n
Investigators said there were no outstanding suspects, but officers were checking the license plate of a vehicle involved in the incident.<\/p>\n
Police have not released additional details about what led to the shooting or whether any charges will be filed.<\/p>\n
