Beckham was 13 during his\u00a0first visit to Dallas<\/a> when he played in the Dallas Cup with his\u00a0Essex Schools team. Beckham mentioned the Dallas Cup trip while touring the Mavs pop up at the NBA House in Macao with Mavericks Governor Patrick Dumont<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“My experience of Dallas, I’ve been in Dallas many times, I’ve played there many times with the Galaxy, obviously been there with Miami as well, but also one of the first places I visited in America was Dallas a long time ago,” Beckham said. “I went to the Dallas Cup, played in the Dallas Cup, and it was something that was very special. So Dallas has a huge place in my heart.”<\/p>\n

“Spending time there over the World Cup with the kids, going for barbecue, enjoying it was one of the most special times for us this summer,” Beckham said.<\/p>\n

Beckham isn’t\u00a0the only celebrity in Macao<\/a> this week for the NBA China games. Actor Jackie Chan and former Houston Rockets player Yao Ming were also courtside on Friday for the team’s 135-117 loss to Houston<\/a>. Beckham called the game and the Mavs pop up in Macao “very special.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
