The news broke with a social media post featuring Royal in Florida gear that included the quote, \u201cdreams to reality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BREAKING: Five-Star Plus+ WR Easton Royal has Flipped his Commitment from Texas to Florida, he tells me for @Rivals The No. 1 WR in the 2027 class had been Committed to the Longhorns since November 2025 \u201cDreams to reality\u201d https:\/\/t.co\/YyHkgx8rS7 https:\/\/t.co\/III41lZvZx<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Hayes Fawcett (@Hayesfawcett3) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Hayesfawcett3\/status\/2109325659680153881?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">October 11, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Royal hinted at a commitment flip after posting a record-breaking 100-meter time at the state track meet in May, saying, \u201cthere may be another commitment day coming\u201d during his post-meet interview.<\/p>\n<p>Both Florida and LSU were reportedly in the mix for Royal. Grant Chachere of TigerBait reporting in May that LSU was making an \u201caggressive push\u201d to flip Royal from Texas, and Chachere later reported this month that Florida \u201cmay surpass\u201d LSU.<\/p>\n<p>Currently in his senior season at Brother Martin, Royal is the nation\u2019s No. 2-ranked wide receiver and Louisiana\u2019s No. 2-ranked recruit in the Class of 2027 according to 247 Sports.<\/p>\n<p>Standing at 6-foot, 214 pounds, Royal was a Times-Picayune All-Metro selection and an LSWA Class 5A All-State pick as a junior after finishing with 1,433 yards from scrimmage and 20 total touchdowns last season.<\/p>\n<p>This season, Royal\u2019s numbers haven\u2019t been as flashy due to seeing double coverage nearly every week.
