She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was marked by her love for her family, her faith in Jesus Christ, and her many gifts and interests. Funeral Service: 12 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2026, in Independence Chapel at Greenwood Mausoleum, 3210 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth 76107. Interment to follow at Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday Oct. 8, 2026, in Memorial Suite B, at Greenwood Funeral Home, 3344 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth 76107. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in her memory. Quilla was born on March 10, 1939, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. On Dec. 27, 1961, she married Raymond Hill, with whom she shared nearly 6 decades of marriage before his passing in 2020. Together, they owned a jewelry store in Eugene, Oregon, where they lived for several years and raised their family. They later moved to Texas to be closer to family. Quilla attended Oklahoma Baptist University and went on to become a high school English teacher. She enjoyed a variety of hobbies that reflected her creativity. She played piano and organ for the church and sang in the church choir. She also loved gardening, sewing quilts, and birdwatching, with cardinals being one of her favorite birds to observe. Quilla’s faith was not one that went untested. One of the deepest sorrows of her life came with the loss of her oldest son, Garrett, who passed away at just four years old. Through the heartbreak of losing her child, her faith in Jesus was both tested and strengthened. She carried Garrett in her heart throughout her life and looked forward with great joy to the day she would see her son again in heaven. Above all, Quilla loved Jesus and treasured the fellowship of her church family at Cross City Church in Euless, formerly First Baptist Euless, where she attended for many years. Her favorite Scripture was Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths.” These words reflected the faith she held dear and the foundation on which she built her life. Quilla will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, but her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now rejoicing in the presence of Jesus and reunited with her beloved son, Garrett. She is preceded in death by her son, Garrett Hill; her husband, Raymond Hill; and parents, Reverend Kenneth and Vanda Lee. Quilla is survived by her son, Garland Hill, and wife, Debra Hill of Bedford; granddaughter, Christina Driskell and husband, Danny Driskell of Lovelady, Texas; great-grandchildren, Brooks, Esther, Garrett, and Keller Driskell; granddaughter, Erica Hill of North Richland Hills; son, David Hill and wife, Tina Hill of Keller Texas; granddaughter, Kindsey Lemmons, Michael Lemmons of Paradise, Texas; great-grandchildren, Harper and Paxton Lemmons; grandson, Daniel Navarro, Crystal Navarro of Paradise, Texas; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Ava Navarro. Her brother, Wayne Lee and wife, Berna Dean Lee of Southlake, Texas; nephew, Kendall Lee; nieces, Kristi Lee Tew and husband, Todd, Kari Lee Holmes and husband, Derek; and many great neices, Brittany, Bryant, Victoria Tew, Kathryn Tew, Hannah Holmes; and great nephew, Mason Holmes.
