{"id":463726,"date":"2026-10-12T13:38:25","date_gmt":"2026-10-12T13:38:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/463726\/"},"modified":"2026-10-12T13:38:25","modified_gmt":"2026-10-12T13:38:25","slug":"see-which-13-nueces-county-grocery-stores-had-health-violations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/463726\/","title":{"rendered":"See which 13 Nueces County grocery stores had health violations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oct. 12, 2026, 4:45 a.m. CT<\/p>\n<p>Eleven grocery stores, including several H-E-B locations, received perfect health scores.Thirteen other stores were cited for violations ranging from improper food storage to dirty surfaces.Violations included gnats in produce at a Walmart and cooked brisket stored on the ground at a Banquete store.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">In addition to restaurants, the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District inspects grocery stores and other establishments for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.caller.com\/story\/entertainment\/dining\/2026\/10\/09\/corpus-christi-restaurant-inspections-coastal-bend-gnats\/92150894007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">health violations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">There are 10 H-E-Bs, five Walmarts, a Target, a Sam&#8217;s Club and a Sprouts where most people do their grocery shopping. Padre Island Drive, scored a 97 on Sept. 10. Inspectors found a toxic chemical bottle stored near food.Jalisco Supermarket, 1101 S. Port Ave., scored a 94 on Aug. 24. Inspectors found flour buildup on bakery racks, food not dated, food not covered, a dirty wall in kitchen and dirty utensils.Walmart, 4109 S. Staples St., scored a 96 on Aug. 13. Inspectors found bent cans, ice buildup and wet stacked dishes.Hong Kong Asian Supermarket, 2033 Airline Road, scored a 99 on July 24. Inspectors found food stored on floor in walk-in.Middle East Market &amp; Deli, 5405 Everhart Road, scored a 97 on July 9. Inspectors found raw chicken stored next to ready-to-eat food.Island Market Grocery, 15401 S. Padre Island Drive, scored a 99 on May 20. Inspectors found a new door sweep needed and ice buildup in meat freezer.Natural Grocers, 3760 S. Staples St., scored a 98 on May 19. Inspectors found no 2026 operating permit.Walmart, 1250 Flour Bluff Drive, scored a 97 on April 27.
