FORT WORTH<\/p>\n

Fort Worth has a lot of a great new sports bars.<\/p>\n

But none of them has a sixth-floor skyline view, and that\u2019s the draw at Lot 12 TCU<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lot 12 is the rooftop bar and patio at a TCU hotel. But it\u2019s not some tourist hangout.<\/p>\n

It feels like a standalone restaurant. There\u2019s a separate front door at 2512 W. Berry St., a dedicated elevator and a large menu<\/a> of sports-bar nibbles, burgers, tacos and flatbreads.<\/p>\n

Most of all, there\u2019s a spectacular panoramic view of all the new construction at TCU and on Berry Street, with the downtown Fort Worth skyline in the distance.<\/p>\n

Lot 12 has become a popular gathering spot for pre- and post-game gatherings, reunions, receptions and holiday parties. It can serve groups the typical sliders-and-chicken-tenders \u201cgame day classics\u201d menu.<\/p>\n

But Lot 12 also now has a larger dinner and Friday-Saturday lunch menu. It\u2019s worth going any night for the view and the Baja fish tacos, pear-goat-cheese flatbreads or any of the other items that are a half-notch better than your ordinary sports bar.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a brisket cheddarburger, for example. Also, there\u2019s a blackened chicken chimichanga, along with rib-eye or chicken Philly cheesesteaks.<\/p>\n

Lot 12\u2019s patio was surprisingly quiet on one recent football Saturday. The green chile queso with pico was a good nosh for game-watching.<\/p>\n

Lot 12 has always had a reputation for desserts. The current menu offers a rich, dark chocolate brownie with chocolate fudge sauce and a premum vanilla-bean ice cream, along with a cookie sundae, bread pudding \u201cbites\u201d with caramel or cheesecake.<\/p>\n

One note: The patio furnishings and landscaping are a little worn after five years of sun-baked, sultry summers.<\/p>\n

Also, the TVs are not bright enough for watching football on a beautiful, sunny Saturday afternoon. And that\u2019s when most sports bars are busy.<\/p>\n

(But Lot 12 has plenty of great TVs \u2013 and plenty of air conditioning.)<\/p>\n

On Sundays, it\u2019s not even open until 4 p.m., so no Cowboys-watching.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s open at lunch Fridays and Saturdays, and for happy hour and dinner nightly.<\/p>\n
