The hotly contested Texas Senate race has traveled to an unlikely place: Greater Cincinnati.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, the Lindner Center of HOPE, located in Mason, released a statement on social media saying that the Democratic candidate in the race, James Talarico, has “never received treatment” from the organization.<\/p>\n

The statement came after speculation from right-wing circles on social media, primarily on X, that Talarico had been missing from the campaign trail due to his receiving treatment for a stress-induced episode.<\/p>\n

In a post on X<\/a>, JT Ennis, a spokesperson for Talarico’s campaign, said that Talarico being treated at the Lindner Center was “a lie designed to promote a pathetic conspiracy theory,” saying that Talarico had been recovering from the flu at his Austin, Texas home.<\/p>\n

According to CNN<\/a>, Talarico had been diagnosed with the flu on Sept. 30, the same day he made a virtual appearance at the United States Hispanic Business Council, an event he was supposed to attend in person.<\/p>\n

Talarico, currently a Texas state senator, returned to the campaign trail this weekend, attending the 2026 Austin City Limits Music Festival.<\/p>\n

“Yeah, I got the flu and I’m feeling much better. And I’m glad I had a chance to recover. You know, if you don’t take the opportunity to get well, sometimes you can get even sicker,” Talarico told NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth on Sunday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sunday evening, Talarico even addressed the speculation that he had been treated at Lindner Center directly, saying that being treated in Mason would have been difficult because “I’ve never even been to Ohio.”<\/p>\n

Talarico is running against former Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in the U.S. Senate Race.
