Realtor Nicole Handy with Braden Real Estate Group recently joined KPRC 2 to discuss Houston-area ZIP codes and communities where buyers may find more affordable options, along with what to consider before making a move.<\/p>\n

Handy says Houston\u2019s size gives buyers several options, whether they want to stay close to the city or are willing to explore communities farther out.<\/p>\n
One area she recommends exploring is ZIP code 77028 in northeast Houston, also known as the Settegast area.<\/p>\n
Handy said single-family homes in the area start around $200,000, while multifamily properties start in the upper $300,000s, offering options for different types of buyers.<\/p>\n
She also pointed to the ongoing development of the Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital project as a factor to watch in the area.<\/p>\n
Handy believes the project could help increase demand over time, potentially contributing to rising property values. However, future appreciation is never guaranteed, and buyers should evaluate each property\u2019s condition, location and long-term costs.<\/p>\n
For buyers willing to look beyond Houston\u2019s core, Handy recommends exploring communities such as:<\/p>\n
Crosby: An option for buyers considering communities northeast of Houston.<\/p>\n
Baytown: A community east of Houston that may offer additional housing options.<\/p>\n
Fulshear: A growing area west of Houston worth exploring for buyers willing to commute farther.<\/p>\n
