An autopsy determined that a man found dead in the Fox Plaza shopping center<\/a> died from heart disease, an El Paso police spokesman said.<\/p>\n

The body of 61-year-old James Winter was found about 7 a.m. Oct. 5 after police officers conducted a check on his well-being at the shopping center on East Paisano Drive in South-Central El Paso, Officer Adrian Cisneros, a police spokesman, said in an email.<\/p>\n

Winter’s toxicology test results are pending, Cisneros said.<\/p>\n

An investigation by the Crimes Against Persons Unit determined there was no foul play.<\/p>\n

Update: Northeast El Paso canal death<\/p>\n

“Mixed drug toxicity” was determined to have caused the death of man whose body was found in a canal<\/a> in Northeast El Paso earlier this summer, Cisneros said.<\/p>\n

The body of Rex Allen Roe, 55, was found on the afternoon of July 17 in the water of a canal that runs along Girl Scout Way near Transmountain Road, police said.<\/p>\n

An autopsy determined Roe died of “mixed drug toxicity,” which is a fatal combination of drugs, Cisneros said in an email. The unattended death was investigated by the Crimes Against Persons Unit, which found no foul play.<\/p>\n
