{"id":465698,"date":"2026-10-14T11:10:13","date_gmt":"2026-10-14T11:10:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/465698\/"},"modified":"2026-10-14T11:10:13","modified_gmt":"2026-10-14T11:10:13","slug":"houston-man-accused-of-robbing-people-at-knifepoint-after-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/465698\/","title":{"rendered":"Houston man accused of robbing people at knifepoint after crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">A man in his early 20s is accused of robbing people at knifepoint after crashing a vehicle into another car in a parking lot in northeast Houston Tuesday night, according to the Houston Police Department.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">Police said the incident began shortly after 9 p.m. when the man took a vehicle and crashed into another vehicle in the 6200 block of Nordling Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">After the crash, the man got out of the vehicle with a bleeding cut to his stomach, police said. When people approached to check on him, he allegedly robbed them at knifepoint and stole their vehicle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">The suspect drove for a little more than 40 minutes before officers located the stolen vehicle near Keel Street, just before 10 p.m., according to police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">Officers conducted a felony traffic stop, but the man resisted and attempted to flee, police said. Officers used a Taser before taking him into custody.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">Police said the man received immediate medical attention and was taken to a hospital in stable condition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">While inside the ambulance, the man reportedly made comments that he had stabbed himself. Officers also found blood inside his home. Investigators believe the stomach wound may have been self-inflicted, but the circumstances remain under investigation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">Police do not believe the suspect knew the people he allegedly robbed.
