{"id":465820,"date":"2026-10-14T14:20:09","date_gmt":"2026-10-14T14:20:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/465820\/"},"modified":"2026-10-14T14:20:09","modified_gmt":"2026-10-14T14:20:09","slug":"2-firefighters-injured-in-fire-at-north-side-apartment-complex-safd-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/465820\/","title":{"rendered":"2 firefighters injured in fire at North Side apartment complex, SAFD says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">SAN ANTONIO \u2013 Two San Antonio firefighters were injured in a fire at an apartment complex on the North Side, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">The fire was reported just before 6 a.m. Wednesday at a vacant building in the 5200 block of Blanco Road, near Jackson Keller Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">SAFD public information officer Joe Arrington said when crews arrived, they found \u201cquite a bit of fire.\u201d Fire crews are fighting the fire at a defensive standpoint, he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">Arrington told KSAT that SAFD is intentionally allowing the fire to burn through the roof so crews can access the interior with water from ladder trucks, which is causing the black smoke visible at the scene.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\"  loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" role=\"presentation\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/T7V4TSVQNBANPFGCVAGALB7CHE.jpg\"\/>The fire was reported just before 6 a.m. on Oct. 14, 2026, at a vacant building in the 5200 block of Blanco Road, near Jackson Keller Road. (Copyright 2026 by KSAT &#8211; All rights reserved.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">One firefighter suffered minor burn injuries to their hands and was hospitalized as a precaution.
