The Gators are also reeling, with two straight losses to Missouri and South Carolina by a combined 47 points. Florida is 2-2 in SEC play and will play Texas and No. 1 Georgia in its next two games.<\/p>\n

Texas is 2-3 against a 10.5-point spread, with its only covers coming against Group of 5 in-state rivals Texas State and UT-San Antonio, but the Longhorns have played the fourth-toughest schedule in the country to date, according to ESPN. <\/p>\n
Their narrow wins came on the road against Tennessee and at home against Ohio State, who, at No. 4, is the top-ranked one-loss team in the country.<\/p>\n
So, Florida represents a slight reprieve. The Gators\u2019 29.0 points allowed per game ranks 112th in FBS and 15th in the 16-team SEC, and they have allowed 28-plus points in four straight games.<\/p>\n
Why Florida could cover +10.5 points<\/p>\n
The Gators can score points. Despite scoring 36 points in its recent two-game slump, Florida still ranks fifth in the SEC in total offense (473.8 yards per game) and is averaging 41.7 points per game.<\/p>\n
Scoring 30-plus against Texas\u2019 stingy defense would take some doing, since the Longhorns rank 13th in FBS in yards allowed per game (264.4). However, Texas\u2019 offense has scuffled, and if it does so again, the Gators could easily keep this game within single digits.<\/p>\n

The way both offenses are playing means a low-scoring game is possible. The Gators offense averaged 296 yards per game over their two-game losing streak, and the Texas offense ranks 12th in the SEC in yards per game (379.2).<\/p>\n
The Texas defense is just better than Florida\u2019s, especially the way Gators junior quarterback Aaron Philo is playing. But if Texas\u2019 offense cannot run it up against a Power 4 opponent, which is entirely possible, then the under seems likely.<\/p>\n
