{"id":466064,"date":"2026-10-14T19:58:08","date_gmt":"2026-10-14T19:58:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/466064\/"},"modified":"2026-10-14T19:58:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-14T19:58:08","slug":"victim-fatally-struck-by-speeding-pickup-truck-while-crossing-street-identified","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/466064\/","title":{"rendered":"Victim fatally struck by speeding pickup truck while crossing street identified"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN ANTONIO &#8211; The woman who was fatally struck by a speeding driver in a late-night hit-and-run this weekend has been identified.<\/p>\n<p>According to the San Antonio Police Department, the victim has been identified as 53-year-old Monica Briseno. <\/p>\n<p>RELATED | <a href=\"https:\/\/news4sanantonio.com\/news\/local\/woman-fatally-struck-by-speeding-pickup-while-crossing-street-suspect-at-large\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Woman fatally struck by speeding pickup while crossing street, suspect at large<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A 53-year-old woman died after being hit by a pickup truck late Saturday night at the intersection of San Pedro and Oblate, and police said the driver fled the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Officers were dispatched to the intersection at about 10:30 p.m. on 10\/10\/2026 for a major accident involving a pedestrian and a motor vehicle. <\/p>\n<p>Police said Monica Briseno, 53, was in a crosswalk when a red truck traveling southbound at a high rate of speed struck her.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the driver left without rendering aid. Briseno suffered major injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, where she later died and was pronounced deceased.<\/p>\n<p>No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
