LAS CRUCES, N.M. \u2013 UT Arlington women’s golf wrapped up the Golf Iconic Classic on Wednesday, finishing 18th overall. The Mavericks shot a 31-over-par 319 in the final round, bringing their three-day total to 64-over 928 (311-298-319).<\/p>\n

UTA entered the final round tied for 16th after improving by 13 strokes in Tuesday’s second round. The Mavericks competed with four golfers on Wednesday after Camilah Porras<\/a> was forced to withdraw after three holes due to injury.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chloe De Verner<\/a> led the way for UTA once again, firing a 6-over 78 to finish tied for 63rd overall. The junior concluded the tournament at 12-over 228 (76-74-78), posting the lowest three-round total among Mavericks.<\/p>\n

De Verner was joined by Kylie Ruston with the lowest round of the day for UTA. Ruston carded a 6-over 78 to finish tied for 90th overall at 20-over 236 (83-75-78). The junior improved by five strokes from her opening-round score in Wednesday’s finale.<\/p>\n

Nirjara Gulhane<\/a> finished with an 8-over 80 in the final round. The Cedar Park native concluded the tournament tied for 87th overall at 18-over 234 (79-75-80), highlighted by a 3-over 75 in Tuesday’s second round.<\/p>\n

Carmen Gonzalez Lo-A-Njoe<\/a> rounded out the Maverick lineup, posting an 11-over 83 on Wednesday. The senior finished 99th overall at 23-over 239 (78-78-83).<\/p>\n

Camilah Porras was unable to compete in the final round after withdrawing due to injury. The UT Dallas transfer opened the tournament with a 6-over 78 before improving by four strokes in the second round with a 2-over 74. Porras finished her two rounds at 8-over 152.<\/p>\n

San Diego State claimed the team title at 13-under 851, edging Nebraska by one stroke. San Diego State’s Kylie Warner took home the individual title after finishing at 7-under 209.<\/p>\n

UTA returns to action Sunday, Oct. 18, at Little Rock.<\/p>\n
