HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A crash involving a utility vehicle in Acres Homes led to a person’s death after they were electrocuted while in the truck’s bucket, according to HPD.<\/p>\n
Police said they responded to a crash scene shortly before 5 p.m. in the 8500 block of Observatory Street on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The two-vehicle crash involved a bucket truck, and a person was in the bucket when it happened, HPD said.<\/p>\n
HPD said that the person inside the bucket was electrocuted and did not survive.<\/p>\n
According to a statement from CenterPoint Energy, there was a third-party contractor, unrelated to CenterPoint, who came in contact with electrical infrastructure near Acres Homes.<\/p>\n
Police did not release further details about the incident, including the victim’s details.<\/p>\n
An investigation into the crash and the death is underway.<\/p>\n
