(Photo by Danny Fulgencio)<\/p>\n<p>Someone call John Fogerty \u2014 a Fortunate Son is planned near the Ferguson Road and Lakeland Drive intersection.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunate Son Beer Garden &amp; Pizza House, which was first opened in Garland a few years ago by the same team behind <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodfrienddallas.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Goodfriend Beer Garden &amp; Burger House<\/a> off Garland Road, will reportedly open at 8686 Ferguson Road, Suite 200.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWork is underway on the new space, which includes a large covered outdoor patio, perfect for enjoying pizza with friends and family,\u201d reads an Instagram <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Decu2CjmJwt\/?img_index=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">post from LiveLocal_EastDallas<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside its beer, cocktail and wine program, Fortunate Son boasts its New Haven-style pizza, which co-owner Matt Tobin ate while spending summers with his grandfather in Connecticut, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/fortunatesontx.com\/about-new\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">restaurant\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThin, charred crust that had a great chew to it, whole milk mozzarella and a super bright, fresh tomato sauce with the little pepperonis that \u2018cupped\u2019 up just right and held on to a little grease,\u201d reads Fortunate Son\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p>The new location is near Dollar General and was once occupied by Superior Cutz, <a href=\"https:\/\/aca-prod.accela.com\/DALLASTX\/Cap\/CapHome.aspx?module=Building&amp;TabName=Building&amp;TabList=Home%7C0%7CBuilding%7C1%7CPlanning%7C2%7CEnforcement%7C3%7CLicenses%7C4%7CPublicWorks%7C5%7CAdministrative%7C6%7CCurrentTabIndex%7C1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">according to the City\u2019s permitting website<\/a>. Since June, multiple work permits have been filed for the address for renovations.
