A Texas thief stole nearly $2,000 worth of emergency medication from the wheelchair of a terminally ill boy at the State Fair \u2014 before a good Samaritan stepped in to help replace the life-saving meds.<\/p>\n
Single mom Kayla Price, whose son Devin Cervantes, 3, has terminal brain cancer, said her purse containing two doses of medication used to stop his seizures and $1,500 in cash was stolen while she visited the Dallas fair with her children on Oct. 6. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe potential of my son having a seizure and me not having that medication \u2026 it sucks,\u201d Price told Fox 4<\/a> on Oct. 8. \u201cI could lose everything because of someone\u2019s careless act. It really hurts because I would do anything for my baby.\u201d<\/p>\n Devin Cervantes, 3, has terminal brain cancer and relies on emergency medication to stop seizures. Fox4<\/p>\n Price had taken her children to the fair \u2014 a week before the annual event closed for the year \u2014 for a rare outing after Devin had been feeling particularly well. <\/p>\n However, Prices\u2019 purse was stolen from her son\u2019s wheelchair when she briefly turned her attention to her older son.<\/p>\n She said the prescription nasal spray inside her purse was vital to stopping Devin\u2019s seizures, and insurance would not cover a replacement.<\/p>\n Price reported the theft to Dallas police and pleaded for the thief to return her belongings.<\/p>\n \u201cI hope, I really wish you had it in your heart to return everything,\u201d she told Fox 4.<\/p>\n Devin\u2019s mom, Kayla Price, said her purse containing nearly $2,000 worth of medication was stolen at the Texas State Fair in Dallas.
