HARRIS COUNTY, Texas \u2013 The Harris County Sheriff\u2019s Office said a coordinated warrant roundup with state and federal agencies resulted in 117 arrests, including 79 involving domestic violence offenses. <\/p>\n

Operation Break the Cycle focused on suspects who posed an ongoing risk to victims and their families.<\/p>\n

The arrests included suspects accused of strangling, assaulting or repeatedly abusing intimate partners or family members. <\/p>\n

In another case, a man was accused of choking a pregnant woman, pushing her into a table and threatening to kill her with a knife. He faces charges including aggravated assault of a family member and assault by impeding breath. <\/p>\n

Other arrests involved allegations of continuous family violence and assaults in which a chair was used as a weapon.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery successful warrant that we execute, every offender we get off the streets, every case we bring closer to resolution really makes a difference in making our community safe,\u201d Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said. <\/p>\n

The sheriff\u2019s office also connected survivors with victim advocates for safety planning, help navigating the justice system, and referrals to support services.<\/p>\n
