Come October 23, Boots & Booze will officially open at 3014 Main Street in Deep Ellum. Combining a walk-up window and outdoor gathering space, it is the first concept from Wush Hospitality Group. Its all-day menu will offer a sandwich-heavy selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as coffee and adult beverages, served al fresco in a pet-friendly, turf-covered courtyard.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It\u2019s a familiar theme, but two things in particular make Boots & Booze noteworthy: the location has a wedding chapel.<\/p>\n
To the first point, it\u2019s no newsflash that Deep Ellum has been going through it lately. Again. There\u2019s the multiyear construction project on Commerce, predatory parking problems<\/a>, and many bar and restaurant closures following a particularly rough summer<\/a>. Even so, the decision to locate Boots & Booze at Main and Hall was \u201cvery intentional,\u201d according to Wish Hospitality co-founder Sherry Hazrati.<\/p>\n \u201cWe were particularly drawn to the northernmost part of Deep Ellum for a reason that extends beyond nightlife,\u201d she says. \u201cWe don\u2019t want to be known simply as another late-night bar. On location, Boots & Booze is just across the street from Terry Black\u2019s Barbecue. Not a bad choice to draft off that restaurant\u2019s widely publicized World Cup momentum.<\/p>\n The Shotgun Wedding Chapel<\/p>\n Moving on to the \u201cShotgun Wedding Chapel,\u201d it\u2019s a feature that will complement the live entertainment, game day viewing, and additional programming planned in the courtyard. Emblazoned with the phrase \u201cTill Death or Last Call,\u201d it\u2019s a kitschy feature, to be sure, but also fully-functional. Several wedding packages will be offered, starting with a \u201csimple, intimate ceremony\u201d for about $350. Divorce parties will also be available, because, well, the circle of life.<\/p>\n Last weekend, in advance of the official opening day, Hazrati and the team hosted a Texas-OU pop-up. She reports that the event offered a \u201cvaluable operational experience and guest feedback,\u201d while launching what she hopes will become an annual gameday tradition. Up next, the Boots & Booze Grand Opening celebration kicks off at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 23.
