Before the front arrives:<\/p>\n

It still feels like summer outside. We set a record high Tuesday with a high temperature of 96\u00b0! It will be hot and humid through Thursday with morning temperatures in the 70s and highs in the 90s. We also have a 20% chance of rain. Wednesday afternoon heavy rain with lightning is west of Houston. <\/p>\n

Friday morning:<\/p>\n

I know we\u2019ve all been waiting for this! Our first \u201creal\u201d cold front blasts through Houston Friday morning, bringing a much-needed break from the heat and humidity. Highs will be in the 70s all day, something we haven\u2019t seen since July 14.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t a front that\u2019s expected to bring severe storms, but a few showers are possible as it moves through. I\u2019m keeping a 20% chance of rain in the forecast. Get ready for cooler temperatures!<\/p>\n

Winds will be a big story across Southeast Texas for about 24 hours. From noon Friday through noon Saturday, strong northerly winds of 15\u201325 mph will gust to around 30 mph. The strongest winds arrive Friday night, creating blustery conditions for high school football games. <\/p>\n

With morning temperatures in the 50s, Saturday will feel downright chilly, especially with the wind. The good news? Winds will ease Saturday afternoon, with highs climbing into the 70s.<\/p>\n
