LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – It\u2019s spooky season and you know what that means. It\u2019s time for houses to put up the Halloween decorations.<\/p>\n
But you may not have seen one quite like \u2018The Skeleton House\u2019. It\u2019s the brainchild of Justin and Mandy Locke, whose first purchase four years ago changed everything.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe bought one of those 12-foot skeletons from Home Depot and put it out,\u201d Justin said. \u201cPeople drove by and they\u2019d wave and I said I think it\u2019s time for us to be that house.\u201d<\/p>\n
October is a special month for the Locke\u2019s, as both celebrate birthday\u2019s during the month. The couple loves to be artistic, so putting up these decorations allows them to share the joy they have for Halloween. The community has certainly taken a liking to the setup over the years too.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe get a lot of people walking by, a lot of people saying \u2018hey, can we take pictures?\u201d Justin said. \u201cWe say absolutely, take all the pictures you want.\u201d<\/p>\n
From Ezekiel chilling on the hay bale, to Crow, who stands 15-feet tall, and of course, the group of skeletons taking part in The Avengers versus Jedi fight, there\u2019s plenty of gems to see at The Skeleton House.<\/p>\n
As for how much this costs to put up…<\/p>\n
\u201cToo much, too much,\u201d Justin said. \u201cI keep the zip tie company in business.\u201d<\/p>\n
Justin also says the yard has to be taken care of as well, so it is a process to make sure he can mow the yard properly. Regardless, the Locke\u2019s are happy to celebrate Halloween in style, and hope the community can come out and see everything it has to offer.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople drive by going to work, the store, school, and I want them to see something that makes them smile,\u201d Justin said. \u201cLast year, we had almost 500 people come through here, so it\u2019s something we\u2019re going to do every year, every Halloween, and we hope the weather holds up and we can do it again this year.\u201d<\/p>\n
