Dallas County poll workers are training for the Nov. 3 general election.

Around 60 full-time employees are training about 4,000 people for a major election.

“We’re going to bring in, train every clerk, every judge,” Nicholas Solorzano, a Dallas County Election Department employee, said.

Tomiko Washington, a Dallas County Elections trainer, has done it all, as an election clerk and judge in past elections. She’s now moved into her role on a team of trainers.

“Really excitement, for being able to have this opportunity to work with the election department and be a part of the process training the individuals that will be working in the voting center,” Washington said.

As for those voting centers, Dallas County election says all the voting equipment for the 84 early vote locations are already in place. While all North Texas counties will go to 12 hours of early voting on the second week, Dallas County has expanded to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m for both early voting weeks, starting when polls open Monday.

“Go to any vote center, it’s all one shared experience, there are no separate lines, you can vote anywhere, you don’t have to go back to your precinct on election day,” Solorzano said.

On Thursday, Washington completed a three-hour training. She still has two more classes to teach later in the day.

Election Day is Nov. 3; early voting begins Monday, Oct. 19, and runs through Friday, Oct. 30.

Dallas County will have 444 total polling locations on Election Day.

Dallas County poll workers are training for the Nov. 3 general election.
