EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 Federal authorities said they busted a drug trafficking ring in the Borderland that was allegedly being run by a Las Cruces man from inside a prison in Ciudad Juarez.<\/p>\n
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the following five suspects are facing federal drug trafficking charges for allegedly selling methamphetamine and fentanyl in the Dona Ana County area:<\/p>\n
Felix Anthony Salazar III, 34, from Las Cruces.Yadira Lizett Cano, 28, from El Paso.Moses Andrew Gonzales, 36, from El Paso.Martha Janeth Grijalva Fierro, 36, from El Paso.Suleima Eidali Miranda, 31, from Las Cruces.<\/p>\n
Court documents show the arrests stem from an investigation that started in 2025.<\/p>\n

Investigators identified Salazar, who was incarcerated in Juarez, as a suspected of a drug trafficking ring in Southern New Mexico.<\/p>\n
Court documents allege that Salazar arranged the drug sales through the messaging app WhatsApp.<\/p>\n
Salazar surrendered to U.S. authorities Sunday night after crossing the border.<\/p>\n

RECOMMENDED: Federal agents stop kidnapping attempt at El Paso border bridge, rescue 14-year-old girl<\/a><\/p>\n Investigation Timeline<\/p>\n Salazar allegedly arranged the sale of a kilo of methamphetamine to an individual who turned out to be an undercover agent in Anthony, New Mexico.<\/p>\n Suspect Cano allegedly drove to the arranged meeting spot– a public parking lot– with a 16-year-old, who then reportedly handed the drugs to the undercover agent for $3,800.<\/p>\n Court documents detail that the undercover agent was allegedly in a WhatsApp call with Salazar and another man during the sale. <\/p>\n Investigators ran the drugs through a lab, finding that it was 973 grams of pure meth.<\/p>\n Investigators also said they suspected Cano was in an alleged romantic relationship with the 16-year-old and knowingly used <\/p>\n Mugshot of Yadira Lizett Cano. Credit: Dona Ana County<\/p>\n Salazar allegedly arranged another drug sale, this time in Sunland Park for half a kilo of meth and again with an undercover agent.<\/p>\n This time, suspects Gonzales and Grijalva Fierro delivered the drugs in exchange for $1,800.<\/p>\n A lab confirmed 468 grams of pure meth.<\/p>\n Investigators note Grijalva Fierro allegedly communicated with Salazar to arrange the meeting. <\/p>\n Court documents allege that Grijalva Fierro is sister with Salazar’s cellmate in Juarez.<\/p>\n Mugshot of Martha Janeth Grijalva Fierro. Credit: Dona Ana County<\/p>\n Salazar allegedly arranged another drug sale, this time one-half pound of meth and 5,000 fentanyl pills in Las Cruces. <\/p>\n This time, suspect Miranda allegedly directed an undercover agent to a home where she reportedly handed packs of meth and fentanyl pills for $2,000.<\/p>\n Lab confirmed 940 grams of pure meth and 251 grams of fentanyl.<\/p>\n Mugshot of Suleima Eidali Miranda. Credit: Dona Ana County<\/p>\n The Charges<\/p>\n Salazar, Cano, Gonzales, Grijalva Fierro, and Miranda are federally charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. <\/p>\n Cano is also charged with distribution of methamphetamine and using a juvenile in a drug operation. <\/p>\n Gonzales and Grijalva Fierro are each charged with distribution of methamphetamine. <\/p>\n Miranda is charged with distribution of methamphetamine and fentanyl. <\/p>\n Salazar and Miranda are additionally charged with conspiracy to distribute fentanyl.<\/p>\n All five defendants are in federal custody. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
