In those 12 games at DKR since, the Longhorns have secured some big-time wins.

Earlier this season, the Longhorns captured a dramatic come-from-behind win over the then-No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes.

In its final regular-season game of 2025, Texas downed a bitter rival, the Texas A&M Aggies, who were ranked the nation’s No. 3 team at the time of the Lonestar Showdown. Weeks before that, the Longhorns outlasted a top 10-ranked Vanderbilt Commodores team 34-31.

Now, the chance to stay at home for the next few weeks creates a pivotal moment in the middle of the season for Texas.

This three-game home stand can set the table for the back half of the regular season, starting with a Florida team that boasts a top-five SEC offense by yards and points per game.

Florida head coach Jon Sumrall called his team’s game in Austin this week a “tremendous challenge.”

“(They’re) a very talented team,” Sumrall said. “It’s all over the tape when you watch it; they’ve got great players in every facet, and they’re well coached. And going on the road is never easy, so we’ll have to handle that well.”

Playing in front of their home crowd has greatly benefited the Texas defense, which will look to force its first turnover since the opening play against UTSA, failing to do so against both Tennessee and Oklahoma.

“Our ability to create turnovers is critical to our success,” Sarkisian said. “We’ve got a 26-game streak of creating a turnover at DKR, so we’ve got to continue that Saturday.”

The Texas defense will look to extend that streak and create game-changing plays to reignite the spark Sarkisian’s team is looking for. The Longhorns will host No. 9 Ole Miss and No. 16 Mississippi State following Florida, producing a home stand full of opposing offensive firepower.

Once November arrives, Texas will only have one home game the rest of the way. With a daunting stretch of road ahead, the Longhorns will have to make the most of their time at DKR — starting this Saturday.

The Texas Longhorns will chase a rebound following their first loss of the season at the hands of…

[6
27,29,28
post-467496","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-texas","tag-texas","tag-texas-headlines","tag-texas-news
["GET
