\u201cWell, I\u2019m always thinking about the process. That\u2019s just indicative of how hard they\u2019ve been working,\u201d said Estacado head coach Eric Ward. \u201cI\u2019ve always been just focused on the day-to-day grind of everything and then the outcomes come when they come. But I\u2019m just always a week-to-week guy and just a day-to-day guy.\u201d <\/p>\n
Last week\u2019s 64-35 victory at Perryton included two defensive fumbles from the Matadors- a 90-yard interception return from Ivyrson McGuire and a 40-yard \u201cscoop and score\u201d from Gary Brooks, who also rushed for two offensive scores. <\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s credit to our defensive coaching staff and our offense is credit to our offensive coaching staff. But in regard to defense, I think the way they practice, the way they compete, that\u2019s what shows on Thursday and Friday nights and the way that we work,\u201d Ward said. \u201cI just think that it\u2019s unmatched to the things that we do in practice and how we practice and the rate that we practice, and I always tell them it starts in practice and so we capitalize on each day in practice, then the game should be where we can showcase how hard we\u2019ve been working.\u201d <\/p>\n
After going winless in 2025, the Bulldogs have already snagged two wins, 30-20 over rivals Pampa and 49-7 over River Road. <\/p>\n
