Between turkey (or other protein), mashed potatoes, stuffing and all the other family-specific sides, that meal can require a considerable amount of effort in preparation.

Luckily, for those looking to kick back and enjoy the holiday or add smoky Texan flavor without spending 12 hours tending a fire, there are a few local barbecue joints and an eatery offering family-style Thanksgiving preorders. All three businesses mentioned in this article will offer pick up on the day of or the preceding Wednesday.

Strouderosa’s ties to Thanksgiving go back to the inception of Trisha and Matt Stroud’s barbecue business. Having launched a pop-up smoked turkey business ahead of the holiday in 2020 as demand soared due to the Greenberg Smoked Turkey Facility explosion, the Strouds leveraged Thanksgiving success to launch their brand and eventually open a storefront in 2023.

Since then, the northern Skillman Street barbecue joint has offered its Thanksgiving menu each year, largely remaining unchanged. One change, however, comes as sliced turkey breast ($24/pound) will be offered alongside classic whole smoked turkeys ($82, 12-14 pounds) for the first time this year. Herb-roasted stuffing, mac ‘n cheese, cream corn and green bean casserole can all be purchased in 32-ounce (4-6 servings) or 80-ounce (12-15 servings) portions, with brown gravy available in a 32-ounce serving for $9. Pick–up will take place on Nov. 26 at Strouderosa’s storefront

For a slightly different take on Thanksgiving fare, Marie’s Kitchen has unveiled a special Filipino Thanksgiving pack with an ordering deadline of Nov. 21. For $170, customers will receive two pounds of lechon pork belly, four Filipino fried chicken quarters, half a tray of pancit behon (rice noodles), half a tray of Arroz Valeciana and a quarter tray of cassava cake (a creamy sponge made with grated cassava and coconut cake).

All items in the Thanksgiving bundle can be ordered a la carte, in addition to a dozen cheese and beef empanadas for $40. Orders can be placed by phone until Nov. 21, with pickup scheduled for Thanksgiving.

Headlining the One90 Smoked Meats Holiday lineup is Julia’s Special — three pounds of sliced turkey breast served with chipotle cranberry sauce for $80. Another notable change comes as One90 has seemingly dropped sides altogether to expand its Thanksgiving protein offering with items like the “beef and bird,” which pays homage to the business’s appearance on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. The package costs $175 and comes with a smoked turkey breast, half a brisket and chipotle cranberry sauce, which can also be purchased on its own.

In addition to newer items, One90 is also offering whole smoked turkeys from $120, spiral sliced house-cured and smoked hams ($120), whole or half briskets ($230 or $125), salmon ($90) and prime rib ($300). Customers can also purchase 10 ounce bottles of One90 bbq sauce ($10) habanero ham glaze ($8), beef tallow ($10) and chipotle cranberry sauce ($12).

Orders for One90 Holiday items must be placed by Nov. 17 and can be placed online. In addition to offering in-store pickup through Nov. 26, the business can also vacuum-seal and ship products to all Lower 48 U.S. states.

With Thanksgiving coming up, Lake Highlands eateries are taking family-style preorders for neighbors looking to save themselves time…

[15
160,162,161
0":"post-46795","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-plano","8":"tag-plano","9":"tag-plano-headlines","10":"tag-plano-news
["GET
