Nico Harrison<\/a> is looking to move forward after he was fired as general manager of the Dallas Mavericks this week.<\/a><\/p>\n

According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, Harrison was in \u201cgood spirits\u201d a few hours after the move was announced. Haynes offered an update on Harrison on a Tuesday night episode of NBA TV\u2019s The Association: Post Up.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s going to take some time to be with himself and his family and just get away from everything,\u201d Haynes said. \u201cIt\u2019s been a tough situation. I think when you look at his tenure with the Dallas Mavericks, you had some good times and definitely had some bad times. He guided the team to the NBA Finals and they have visions of getting further than that. Ultimately, his tenure is going to be defined by the Luka Doncic trade.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Mavericks officially announced that they were parting ways with Harrison on Tuesday. Harrison served as Dallas\u2019 general manager and president of basketball operations for four seasons.<\/p>\n

With Harrison out, Michael Finley<\/a> and Matt Riccardi<\/a> will oversee basketball operations on an interim basis. The Mavericks also began a comprehensive search for a permanent replacement.<\/a> Riccardi or Finley could emerge as candidates if Patrick Dumont keeps the hiring process close to home.<\/p>\n
