HOUSTON \u2013 The Houston Texans will play their first international game since 2019 this upcoming Sunday when they face AFC South rival Jacksonville Jaguars.<\/p>\n
The Texans and Jags organizations know each other well, and every game feels like a chance to win the AFC South title, since either team has won the division since 2021. <\/p>\n
The Texans flew out to London on Thursday night and arrived early Friday morning. They went straight into their usual Friday schedule of a walk-through practice followed by media availability. They held practice at the historic Harrow School, the alma mater of Winston Churchill. <\/p>\n
During their media availability, Head Coach DeMeco Ryans and Will Anderson Jr. gave some insight into trying to stop the Jags defensively. Coach Ryans was also asked if the Jags have an advantage at all, knowing they played last week in London as well and have been acclimated to the time change for the past week and a half. <\/p>\n
\u201cI have no idea if it gives them an advantage or not, but I know one thing: our guys are excited about this game are excited about the opportunity to play here in London,\u201d said Coach Ryans. \u201cA lot of us, this is our first time here in London, so the advantage is no advantage; when the ball is kicked off, it\u2019s who plays best on Sunday.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cThey know us, we know them; it\u2019s gonna be a great one,\u201d said Anderson Jr. \u201cIt\u2019s always a physical game; any time we play them it\u2019s always a battle, and this game is gonna be like who\u2019s in their details the best, who can execute for four quarters and who can almost be perfect, and that\u2019s what this game is gonna be, and I think they\u2019re a really great team. Trevor (Lawrence) is having success, and we have to be at our best to get the outcome that we want.\u201d <\/p>\n
Kickoff for Sunday\u2019s game is at 8:30 a.m. Houston time, so make sure you set your alarms on Saturday night and don\u2019t miss a minute of the action. <\/p>\n
