DALLAS, Texas (KXII) – A visit to the State Fair of Texas isn\u2019t complete without a stop at Big Tex Circle. The most famous face of the fair is sporting new digs this year.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s hard to miss and he\u2019s got lots to say, it\u2019s Big Tex at the State Fair of Texas. He\u2019s been in the back of countless fair photos for 74 years but this fair season, fair officials say he\u2019s sporting a brand new look.<\/p>\n
\u201c250 years of America, 140 years of our great State Fair of Texas, and 74 years of the big guy behind me,\u201d said State Fair of Texas Official Spokesperson Karissa Condoianis.<\/p>\n
Starting with his red, white, and blue button-down shirt.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe typically try to stay within as our lone star colors, it also celebrates America-250,\u201d said Condoianis.<\/p>\n
On the \u201cyoke\u201d of his shirt, a pattern of eagles covers his shoulders.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s very patriotic but also holds a lot of state pride,\u201d said Condoianis.<\/p>\n
Coated across his size 96 Lucchese boots, a design crafted by the 2026 Big Tex Boot Design Contest winner.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery three years, we invite our fairgoers to submit their designs for what they want Big Tex\u2019s boots to look like,\u201d said Condoianis.<\/p>\n
The artwork blends classic Texas symbols and fair favorites like the Texas Star, bluebonnets, and a longhorn.<\/p>\n
Fairgoers stopping to get their iconic photo, shared their favorite features.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe boots, its the boots!\u201d said Dallas resident Mender Coleman.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love that Shiner beer buckle, now that hits the spot, and the Lucchese boots, brings back some awfully good memories from over the years,\u201d said former Pottsboro resident Frances Coppenbarger.<\/p>\n
You can expect to see Big Tex\u2019s shirt change each year and his boot design every three years. All with a local, Texan touch.<\/p>\n
