EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 Indivisible the 915 is holding two “No Kings” sidewalk protests this weekend to encourage El Paso residents to vote in the Nov. 3 midterms.<\/p>\n
Saturday, Oct. 17, protesters gathered at Eastlake Boulevard, between I-10 and Rojas Drive from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.<\/p>\n
Two retired teachers, Douglas Stevens and Elenora Stevens, joined the protest on Saturday saying that the desire for change is what moved them to the participate.<\/p>\n
“We need people to early vote,” Elenora said. “Make sure you have a plan to early vote, bring a neighbor, bring a friend.”<\/p>\n
One of the founders of Indivisible the 915, Dee Anne Croucher, said she is devastated from what she says is happening to women, immigrants and the economy and emphasized the importance for people to stand up and say how they feel.<\/p>\n
“I think people will see this, they will realize that they need to speak up,” Croucher said. “They need to vote, they need to get out, they need to not be complacent and we need to make a change we need to save democracy.”<\/p>\n
Indivisible the 915 will be hosting the second protest on Sunday, Oct. 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 690 Sunland Park Drive.<\/p>\n
